Dr. Ureh Nnenna Lekwauwa
Dr. Ureh Nnenna Lekwauwa (also known as Dr. Nena) has been a physician for 43 years, 33 of which she has been a psychiatrist. She graduated from Ahmadu University School of Medicine in 1980. Dr. Nena completed her residency in general psychiatry in 1990 at Columbia University/Harlem Hospital Center in New York. She is Board Certified in General Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine and a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. She retired from her position as the Medical Director and Chief of Clinical Policy at NC DMHDDSAS in 2016, after 26 years in the public mental health system. She then became the Medical Director and Chair of Psychiatry at the Novant Health-Thomasville Medical Center from July 2016, until joining Carolina Complete Health of the Centene Health Corporation in July 2023.
Dr. Lekwauwa has been involved in Global Health Missions and healthcare since 2002.
