Paula Atkins
Paula Atkins is currently the Chief Clinical Officer of Holy Angels in Belmont, NC, where she has worked for the past 27 years. Holy Angels is a facility that serves those with severe and profound intellectual disabilities and who are medically fragile. She holds a BA in Psychology from Winthrop University and an MA in Philanthropy and Non-profit Development from the University of Northern Iowa. She has national accreditation as a CNP (Certified Non-Profit Professional) and ACNP (Advanced Certified Non-Profit Professional) from the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance and her certification in Non-Profit management from Winthrop University.
Paula has been in the healthcare field for 29 years, starting in mental health and now working with the intellectually disabled. As the Chief Clinical Officer, she is part of the executive leadership team and oversees state and local compliance standards. She also oversees quality assurance, government funding of services, and is the liaison with the consultants that provide services, including OT, PT, Speech, and psychological services. She is the liaison with all four Tailored Plans to ensure Holy Angels receives clean audits and inspections. She currently sits on numerous provider councils in leadership roles.
