Mark Washington
With a career spanning two decades in health and child welfare services, Mark has been a leader within both state government Medicaid and Family Services agencies and Medicaid Managed Care. Currently, he is the Executive Director of Healthy Blue Care Together, the North Carolina Children and Families Specialty Plan. This Specialty Medicaid managed care plan offers an innovative, data-driven approach to serving youth and their families within the child welfare system to ensure preventive care and early intervention are prioritized while wrapping the family in supports designed to stabilize and elevate.
Previously, Mark was appointed by governors to lead Child and Family Services in both Kentucky and Georgia. He also co-founded a consulting group that assisted Medicaid Managed Care Organizations in designing and implementing programs tailored to the needs of youth in foster care and adoption, with an emphasis on developing data-driven models to integrate and support the entire child welfare system of care . Mark is a renowned speaker who addresses topics at the intersection of Medicaid and Family Services, advocating for stronger models of care and treatment for families at the local level. In addition to his professional achievements, he cherishes his role as a father to four amazing daughters.
