Avery Scales is a seasoned health and human services professional with a career that began at the age of 18. She has worked extensively with mental health, substance use, and special needs populations in intensive institutional settings, where she gained invaluable hands-on experience and a deep understanding of client care. Her journey through the industry has equipped her with a comprehensive knowledge of admissions, utilization, supervision, and crisis care team development.
Transitioning into human resources, Avery earned her Human Resources Business Professional certification and has served as a National Instructor for the American Red Cross and National Crisis Intervention for over a decade. In 2023, she was honored with a National Instructor Trainer certification from the American Red Cross, enabling her to train and mentor aspiring instructors.
Her commitment to the field is deeply personal, rooted in her childhood experiences with mental health and substance use within her family, which inspired her to educate and empower others in their professional journeys. In 2020, Avery and her husband founded Scales Training Company LLC, where she currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer and Co-Owner. With an unwavering dedication to training, she has successfully instructed over 6,000 participants across various curricula and has developed innovative training platforms tailored to meet the needs of individuals seeking support. Avery’s passion for training and education continues to significantly impact the lives of those she serves.
