Sheryl Zerbe, MHA

Sheryl is a graduate of Pfeiffer University, earning a Master’s in Health Administration to complement the experience she has working in the behavioral health nonprofit and profit world serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Sheryl has served many positions with the companies she’s worked for, with responsibility for many functions within those companies. This work has spanned over 30 years and includes navigating the changes in NC’s behavioral health system for 30 of those years. Sheryl lives in NC and she has served as BrightSpring Health’s Regional Director for NC-based Community Alternatives for 12 years. Community Alternatives provides ICF IDD, Waiver, b3, 1915i, state-funded, and Care Management services to individuals with IDD. Sheryl’s current focus includes many of the challenges and barriers faced by providers, such as ensuring individuals receive the services they need, that the company receives authorizations for and is paid for those services, that staff are paid a living wage as a way to attract and retain employees, and more. Community Alternatives NC is contracted with all six LMEs/MCOs and has operations from the mountains to the coast.
